Sea Box Wins $34.6M Government Contract to Provide Containerized Hygiene Systems to the US Air Force

Energy efficient mobile units provide substantial cost savings for military and taxpayers

PHILADELPHIA and EAST RIVERTON, N.J. - New Jersey-based manufacturer Sea Box, Inc. has received a $34.6M US government contract to provide the US Air Force with Sea Box Expandable Bicon Shelter (EBS) Hygiene Systems over the next five years. These fully containerized modules consist of multiple showers and latrines contained in mobile modules that offer quick set up and can easily be packed for transport, storage and redeployment anywhere in the world.

Each Sea Box-designed and built intermodal hygiene system consists of multiple showers and latrines and a full electrical and plumbing connectivity kit for easy assimilation into the military's current utility systems. Each unit is contained in an insulated, 10-foot, expandable ISO container that can be heated and cooled to comfortable temperatures even in extreme weather conditions. The units are substantially more energy efficient than the tent-based hygiene systems they replace, so the Sea Box design provides a major energy and cost savings for the military and the US taxpayer.

When deployed, the footprint of the Sea Box-designed containerized EBS quickly and easily expands to three times its shipping size. The installed hygiene system is both quieter and more comfortable than the tent systems.

In making the announcement Sea Box President, Jim Brennan Jr. said, "Sea Box, Inc. has a 30-year working relationship with the US military. Our team focuses on developing, designing and building innovative containerized products to service many of the specialized needs and requests of the US government. The unique benefit of all Sea Box products is that they are built to standardized transport container design and are easily transportable worldwide using the military's existing transportation systems and handling equipment. The Sea Box Engineering and Design Department has invested three years in the design and development of this innovative, cost-saving and energy efficient system for the benefit and comfort of US servicemen and women deployed around the world."

Nick Catanzariti, Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Sea Box noted, "Our Sea Box EBS design is so innovative that the entire system can be set up by four people in just over four hours, start to flush! Also, the ease of maintenance, the fact that the system will stand up to multiple deployments, and the improved quality of life will indeed make the new system a far better solution for our troops."

Bob Loughery, Sea Box Vice President General Manager commented at the presentation of the new system, "Sea Box's corporate objective is to invent, design and produce better solutions for our customers' needs and to assist in their product development."
