Schaltbau Publishes its Product Catalog on The TraceParts CAD Content Platform

Over 180 varieties of connectors and snap-action switches available instantly on the TraceParts platform.

Amberg (Germany), 09/26/2019 - Schaltbau has chosen TraceParts to create and publish its 3D product catalog.

The Schaltbau GmbH Group is known for its range of connectors, snap-action switches, rolling stock components and complete driver's cab equipment meeting the most stringent safety requirements.

Initially, over 180 connectors and snap-action switches from Schaltbau's vast product range have been published on the TraceParts' extensively disseminated CAD content platform.

Schaltbau's connector solutions are renowned for their long service life and robust design, including up to 10,000 mating cycles, ingress protection to IP69K, high temperature resistance, and superior resistance of materials and to shocks and vibrations. These are just some of the attributes that explain why these solutions are so well suited to continuous operation and harsh environmental conditions.

Schaltbau's snap-action switches with their double-break contacts and positive opening design have been the ideal component for reliable systems for over 40 years. If you include the high switching power and mechanical service life of over 10 million switching cycles, Schaltbau's snap-action switches are the obvious choice when it comes to ensuring the functional safety of machinery and installations.

Engineers and designers can now download the 3D CAD models of Schaltbau's connectors and snap-action switches, as well as the corresponding product datasheets, for free from TraceParts.com in over 60 formats, thereby maximizing compatibility with all commonly used CAD systems. In addition to such neutral CAD formats as STEP and IGES, the platform also offers native formats for other product design software suites, including Autodesk, Dassault Systèmes, PTC and Siemens.

"Thanks to this initial implementation phase, we can now provide our new and existing customers with the digital data of our 3D CAD models for the selected products. If the initiative proves to be beneficial for both TraceParts and our company, other products in our portfolio will follow suit (e.g. DC contactors). The market will soon bring us a clearer response to this particular question," explains Christian Meyer, Chief Marketing Officer at Schaltbau GmbH.

"The TraceParts Publishing Network provides 23 million engineers and designers around the world with direct access to the CAD models and other technical product information from the 770 catalogs currently published on our CAD content platform. We are delighted that Schaltbau, a renowned manufacturer of electromagnetic components, has also decided to join us. Schaltbau is achieving a competitive advantage by making even greater inroads into the market thanks to our strong presence in the construction sector," advises Christian Baumgärtner, Managing Director of TraceParts GmbH.
