Sartomer’s Jeffrey Klang is Elected to RadTech Board of Directors

Sartomer, a business unit of Arkema Inc., announces the election of Jeffrey Klang, global R&D director – 3D Printing for Sartomer, to the board of directors of RadTech, a nonprofit trade association that supports ultraviolet (UV) and electron beam (EB) technologies.

Sartomer is a pioneer in the commercial development of products for UV/EB curing technologies and is a leading global supplier of acrylate/methacrylate oligomers, monomers, and other specialty chemicals. In addition, Sartomer is a forerunner in designing liquid resin solutions for UV-curable 3D printing, marketed under the N3xtDimension® brand. The company is a part of “3D Printing Solutions by Arkema” — a new commercial platform dedicated to additive manufacturing.

“Jeff’s strong leadership of Sartomer’s innovation and R&D initiatives supports the evolving needs of UV and EB processors in diverse industries, such as 3D printing, coatings, graphic arts, adhesives, sealants, elastomers and electronics,” said Kenny Messer, president of Sartomer Americas. “His deep understanding of UV/EB technologies, markets and regulatory requirements will make him an asset to RadTech’s board of directors.”

Previously, Klang was manager of Coatings Platform R&D for Sartomer and spent several years as manager of product development. He has played a key role in the development and commercialization of many of Sartomer's oligomers and monomers.

Klang has worked in the chemical industry for over 29 years, serving in various R&D roles. He is an inventor with more than 20 U.S. patents and has published numerous articles in trade and scientific journals. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Minnesota and his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Cornell University.

RadTech promotes the use and development of UV and EB processing as an industrial technique offering energy savings, environmental benefits, increased productivity, higher yields and the opportunity for improved, new or unique products. The association serves as an international forum and source of education and information for individuals and organizations involved in the use of UV and EB processing or who supply equipment, chemicals or other materials to such users. RadTech also develops and disseminates procedures and data on safe equipment operation and materials handling, testing and quality control.

Sartomer, a business line of Arkema, is a premier global supplier of specialty chemicals for ultraviolet and electron beam (UV/EB), peroxide, and two-part epoxy/amine systems. For more than 60 years, Sartomer has pioneered the development of these advanced technologies, introducing hundreds of products that enhance performance in 3D printing, coatings, graphic arts, adhesives, advanced materials and other demanding applications.
