SAND Technology Continues North American Expansion
MONTREAL, April 24: SAND Technology, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: SNDTF.OB) , an international provider of intelligent enterprise information management software, today announced the addition of a new technical solution director to support the company's increased traction with the SAP and non-SAP market in the U.S. This development is among several corporate milestones including new SAP and HP certifications, and partnerships with Business Objects and TotalTec.
SAND Technology is off to a strong start for 2007:
o SAND/DNA(TM) for SAP NetWeaver BI version 2.3 was awarded "Certified
for SAP NetWeaver®" status for its integration with Near Line Storage
for SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (SAP NetWeaver BI) Release
2004s. SAND is one of the first nearline software vendors to achieve
integration with this SAP solution.
o SAND joined the Business Objects Technology Partner Program. As part of
the agreement, SAND and Business Objects will be collaborating on sales
and marketing initiatives. The combination of SAND/DNA products with
the business intelligence and enterprise information management
software in Business Objects XI Release 2 results in powerful solutions
that enable organizations to meet all their data management needs and
service-level objectives.
o SAND announced that its SAND/DNA data management solutions, including
SAND/DNA Access, SAND/DNA Analytics, and SAND/DNA for SAP NetWeaver BI,
now run on HP Integrity servers running HP-UX 11i v3 as well as the new
rx2660 entry-level server.
o In addition to SAND's participation at the SAP NetWeaver BI Portals
2007 conference in March, Accenture executive Don Marion delivered a
presentation on the benefits and requirements associated with nearline
archiving of SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW) system data.
Marion's presentation included a case study involving SAND Technology.
SAND also added Glen Leslie to the team as Director of U.S. Technical Solution Consulting. Leslie is widely recognized for his success with Oracle, where he most recently worked as principal solution consultant, and at SAP. At SAND, Leslie will oversee the company's technical field activities with partners and end users. His extensive BI experience includes positions as a product manager for SAP NetWeaver at SAP Labs in Atlanta, and staff positions at Cognos and Disney Worldwide Services.
Leslie's background with SAP brings to SAND a level of expertise that will greatly benefit SAND/DNA for SAP NetWeaver BI customers, including major energy company Entega Service, which uses SAND/DNA as a nearline solution to manage the rapidly growing volumes of data in its SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW) environment; and Volkswagen Financial Services Aktiengesellschaft, the largest provider of automotive financial services in Europe, which implemented the SAND/DNA nearline storage solution for SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence Release 2004s. Other SAND/DNA for SAP NetWeaver BI adopters include a large Asian telecommunications provider, a major U.S. government agency, and a large retail European company.

o SAND Product Manager Dr. Michael Hahne will deliver two key
presentations at the SAPPHIRE '07 conference, taking place April 22 to
25 in the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. SAND will also
exhibit at the conference, in the Powered by SAP NetWeaver Partner
Pavilion in the NW7 Pod area.
o SAND Technical Solutions Director Glen Leslie is scheduled to deliver a
presentation at IBM/SAP University, May 8 to 9, in Newtown Square,
Pennsylvania.
