Saelig Introduces MSR 175plus Transportation Data Logger With GPS, Shock and Climate Recording

The new MSR shock logger is easy to use, takes accurate measurements, offers multiple parameter sensing for transportation needs.

Fairport, NY, USA: Saelig Company, Inc. has introduced the MSR 175plus Data Logger which contains two 3-axis-acceleration sensors (±15g/±200g), a temperature sensor (-20 to +65degC), a humidity sensor (0 to100% rel. humidity), air pressure sensing (0 to 2000mbar), and an ambient light sensor (0 to 65,000 lux). The tamper-proof MSR175plus GPS Data Logger records potentially damaging shock events as well as the associated ambient conditions with the exact geographical position via its GPS/GNSS receiver. This robust data logger helps to ensure compliance with transport specifications and provides irrefutable data for identifying damage liability for help with insurance claims.

The two 3-axis-acceleration sensors measure at a rate of up to 6400 times per second. In addition, the robust mini data logger measures and stores temperature curves, humidity, air pressure and light. The MSR 175plus will store 2 million data values. Even with active GPS tracking, the removable, rechargeable 2400 mAh LiPo-battery enables recording for up to 8 weeks, and at least one year without GPS tracking.

It is often essential to determine exactly where and when an event occurred during transport or storage and if it was outside the preset tolerance limits. The MSR 175plus is equipped with a GPS/GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) receiver with an external connector for a cable-connected antenna. In order for GPS position data to be logged, the antenna must be mounted with an unobstructed GPS access to the sky. The satellite-supported position data is stored by the data logger, allowing the location of a transported item to be quickly determined and documented in the event of a damaging event.

The software package provided with the MSR 175plus includes three programs: MSR 175 Dashboard, MSR ReportGenerator and MSR ShockViewer. The MSR Dashboard helps to configure the loggers with just a few mouse clicks. The recorded data can be quickly transferred to a computer via the unit's USB port. MSR ReportGenerator can quickly create a compact data report. The MSR ShockViewer provides the ability for further detailed data analysis.

For transportation monitoring of shock, temperature, humidity, air pressure, light, and location, the ideal solution is MSR 175plus. Made in Switzerland by MSR Electronics GmbH, specialists in designing miniaturized dataloggers for a broad range of uses, MSR 175plus loggers are available from Saelig, their US technical distributor.
