Ross Optical Launches Optical Calculator App for Android and iPhone
El Paso, TXÂ – Ross Optical has launched a mobile application for its Optical Calculator, as well as a new online desktop version. The tool allows engineers and technicians to calculate to industry requirements easily and quickly.
Developed at Ross Optical to aid the company's manufacturing team, the Calculator offers frequently used calculations including but not limited to:
• EFL
• F#
• Centration
• Sag and Radius
• Aspheric Surface
“The new Optical Calculator app offers a convenient way for optical engineers and technicians to make their day-to-day calculations in a variety of work settings,” Ross Optical President Divi Mangadu said. “The ability to take this work to the manufacturing floor or a customer facility, for example, can increase productivity.”
In response to the growing number of customers using mobile devices in their work, the company saw the need for a more accessible tool. Ross Optical worked with Academic Technologies at The University of Texas at El Paso to develop the mobile application.
The Optical Calculator was previously offered as a downloadable desktop program; the new online desktop version and mobile app replace that download.
