Rockwell Automation Adds Solid-State Option to Allen-Bradley VersaView Industrial Computer Line

Ideal option for increased reliability in rugged operating environments

MILWAUKEE, Jan. 25, 2007 - Rockwell Automation has added a solid-state option to its line of VersaView industrial computers to address control and information needs in rugged operating environments, such as those found in automotive and petroleum industries. The Allen-Bradley VersaView non-display hazardous location industrial computer (Bulletin 6181H), when combined with the VersaView Heavy Industrial Monitor, provides a resilient hazardous location computing solution.

"Rugged operating environments exist in nearly every industry, from automotive to food and beverage to oil and gas. In these environments, operators need continuous access to information without having to worry about whether their industrial computers can handle the pressure," said Scott Allan, product manager, Industrial Computers, Rockwell Automation. "With the VersaView 6181H, users can trust that they'll get access to the information they need for improving machine throughput and keeping operations running, all in a very economical package."

The solid-state design of the VersaView 6181H can withstand up to 15g operating shock, 1.5 g operating vibration and up to 50 degrees Celsius operating temperature, making it well-suited for performance in mission-critical applications that demand 24/7 continuous operation regardless of conditions. It is certified for use in Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Class 1, Division 2 heavy industrial operating environments - one of the most stringent hazardous certifications from UL.

VersaView industrial computers and monitors offer a scalable, modular design that integrates seamlessly with existing control systems, providing time and cost savings. The VersaView 6181H features a 24VoltDC power input, Pentium 4 2.0 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM and an 8 GB Solid State Drive (SSD) preloaded with Windows XP Pro for SSD computers.
