REO-USA to Offer Railway Component Solutions and More at APTA EXPO
INDIANAPOLIS — With a focus on growing its business in the transportation industry, REO-USA will offer a full complement of main drive and auxiliary converter components used in transportation systems at the APTA EXPO. A number of time-tested, high quality reactors, charging resistors, current transformers, and dv/dt and sinus filters will be on display in the REO-USA booth (#4300) during the October 12-15 show, being staged at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.
"We view the transportation industry as a major opportunity for us. We have been a member since 2011, and although this is the first time we are exhibiting at the APTA EXPO, we have significant expertise with railway applications," remarked Barbara Miller, Vice President of North American Operations for Indianapolis-based REO-USA.Â
"With the types of products we have to offer, we expect to grow market share based on some upcoming projects we are involved in. Many of our competitors can't match the volume of railway components we manufacture for the Main and Auxiliary Drives. Our goal at this event is to educate attendees and help them better understand the choices and options that exist in the market."
APTA EXPO attendees will learn and see plenty when they stop by the REO-USA booth. The company is ISO 9001 certified and benefits from German-based parent company REO being IRIS certified. Every REO-USA railway component undergoes rigid type testing in accordance with the EN 60310 standard, one of the reasons why these products have a life cycle of 30 years or longer.
Main Drive products to be showcased include the liquid cooled resistor BWD330, a three-phase choke line reactor, and a wide variety of current transformers ranging from 0-1000 amps. A larger collection of Auxiliary Drive items include DC-Link Boost/Buck converters, cost-effective IP 65-66 rated charging resistors, fully encapsulated sinusoidal filters, and current transformers from 16-2/3 up to 30 kHz.
"We're seeing a strong trend toward liquid cooled systems for hybrid, electric, rail and marine vehicle applications," indicated Miller. "Developing customized product solutions is another strength we have to offer, and when you combine our testing and analysis capabilities, railway equipment and service providers can specify our components with confidence."
