Reel Options® Adds New Manufacturing and Testing Equipment

Reel Options® has been busing adding new equipment for production and testing. A second spin welding assembly station has recently been set up due to increased production of the 6.5 inch and 10.5 inch utility spools. The new station will also accommodate an all new 12 inch flange that is currently in the final testing phase. The spin welding process bonds the plastic flanges to the plastic extruded core creating a strong bond without the need for adhesives, staples or bolts. Both the flanges and the cores are manufactured in-house using reprocessed materials to create an economical and environmentally friendly product.

Reel Options has also purchased a new pull tester that is used for in-process testing of assembled reels to assure consistency of our manufacturing and assembly techniques. The pull tester has been instrumental for the R&D team as well in developing new products, such as the new 12 inch spin welded flange. By being able to test in-house Reel Options has been able to bring product from concept to production much quicker and at considerably lower development cost.
