Raytheon's Common Aviation Command and Control System Successfully Integrates Marine Air Ground Task Force Capabilities

TEWKSBURY, Mass., March 26, 2007 -- Raytheon Company (NYSE:RTN) successfully demonstrated its Common Aviation Command and Control System, or CAC2S, and associated integrated capabilities last month to the Naval Advisory Board at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
CAC2S provides efficient, affordable air command and control capabilities by integrating Navy standard command and control architecture and code while consolidating five existing systems into one common system.
The demonstration extended the affordable common architecture from a sea- based platform aboard the Navy's newest amphibious assault ships (San Antonio class) to the Marines ashore.
"This demonstration was a tremendous success," said Pete Franklin, Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS), vice president of Integrated Air and Missile Defense. "It exceeded the Marines' expectations and highlighted the ability of Raytheon and Marine Corps experts to leverage and integrate new and existing technologies.
"When merged, CAC2S provides the Marine Corps with enhanced capabilities and solutions enabling the execution of its critical air command and control expeditionary warfare mission. This successful demonstration clearly highlighted Raytheon's leadership role in Marine Air Ground Task Force integration."
Raytheon, working with CAC2S partners General Dynamics and Northrop Grumman, supported the Marine Corps Systems Command in this demonstration effort.
Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems, prime contractor for systems integration, provided the first CAC2S to the Marines in early June 2006.
