Rayotek Scientific, Inc. Honored As Subcontractor of The Year


Rayotek Scientific, Inc. awarded NASA’s Johnson Space Center 2014 Subcontractor of the Year Award for engineering and fabrication of Orion Spacecraft Windows.



San Diego, CA – The highly anticipated launch of the Orion Exploration Flight Test 1 (EFT-1) Mission scheduled for December 4 will be carrying windows engineered and fabricated by Rayotek Scientific, Inc. Because of the critical value added contributions Rayotek made to the NASA Spacecraft Window Program, Rayotek have been recognized as the 2014 Johnson Space Center (JSC) Subcontractor of the Year.



Rayotek provides comprehensive engineering support and unique fabrication capabilities for the Orion spacecraft viewing windows, rocket engine sight glasses and other vital applications.  As a result of being selected the JSC Subcontractor of The Year, Rayotek has now been nominated for the NASA Agency Award for nationwide Subcontractor of The Year. The winner of this award has not yet been announced.



The Small Business Subcontractor of The Year Award is given to one company each year out of thousands of subcontractors that support NASA programs. It is awarded to companies that not only supply top quality products, but, in addition, contribute innovative technologies and solutions.

Large and small business prime contractors, subcontractors and NASA organizations from across the country will be attending the award ceremony.  NASA’s Johnson Space Center is a leader and host to worldwide spaceflight activities and Mission Control for the U.S. space program and the International Space Station.
