Ravenox Named One of Six Finalists for Amazon’s First-ever Small Business Award
Amazon recently announced their U.S. Small Business Spotlight Awards finalists as Amazon storefronts surpasses 2.5 million products from nearly 30,000 American Businesses. The award program was established this year to honor and celebrate the top entrepreneurs and small businesses across the country selling in Amazon’s stores. Amazon customers will select the Small Business of the Year, Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year, and Small Business Owner Under 30 of the Year by voting now through November 8, 2019 11:59 PM PST. Since September, more than 1.300 U.S. small businesses were nominated for the award. Ravenox was named one of six finalists for the Small Business of the Year award for creating jobs, bringing manufacturing back to America and advocating for veterans and small businesses throughout the nation.
Sean Brownlee, founder and owner of Ravenox, is a strong advocate for small businesses. He serves on the board of directors for the Washington Retail Association representing nearly 400,000 people who work in retail in Washington State and depend on the retail industry. Additionally, he is a Small Business Retail Council Member for the National Retail Federation and a 2018 America’s Retail Champion finalist. All this, while running a rope manufacturing direct-to-consumer retail business and serving in the Marine Corps. When interviewed about why he started a rope business he said, “This is a way for me to serve our great nation outside of military service and bring manufacturing back to America. Policy decisions over the past few decades have forced manufacturers and suppliers to source from overseas to stay competitive. With rapid technological advances it’s now possible for manufacturers like Ravenox to bring their products to market and into the hands of consumers in way that benefits everyone.
