Raleigh Event Shows Data Center Consolidation Drives Area's 2011 IT Market

INPUT Brings Top Technology Leaders to Discuss The Changes in North Carolina's Emergent IT Landscape

RESTON, Va., April 7, 2011 - Technology vendors of Raleigh, N.C. will gain long-range strategic insights from the area's most influential technology experts by attending the North Carolina Top Technology Leaders state and local breakfast hosted by Deltek's INPUT Business Unit. Serving as the second stop in a series of regional events, the breakfast will offer a better understanding of the developing IT marketplace for state and local contractors in 2011. With a large focus on North Carolina's recent data center consolidation initiatives, vendors can look forward to a variety of presentations geared toward depicting a holistic picture of the area's emerging IT opportunities and challenges. Scheduled for Thursday, April 14, at the Raleigh Marriott City Center, the event will give attendees the chance to network with peers, interact with local executives and gain critical insight into the area's growing IT environment.

Providing expert analysis and vendor recommendations, the event features key state and city officials from North Carolina, such as:
o Gerald Fralick, Chief Information Officer, State of North Carolina
o Gail Roper, Chief Information Officer, City of Raleigh
o Kerry Goode, Chief Information Office, City of Durham

The event will also feature experts outside the greater Raleigh area, including the event's moderator, Dr. Alan Shark, executive director of the Public Technology Institute, and Chris Dixon, Deltek's INPUT Business Unit's manager of State and Local Industry Analysis. Dixon will discuss local and regional opportunities currently tracked by Deltek's INPUT Business Unit, in addition to outlining the major state and national trends that are expected to drive IT consumption for 2011 and beyond.

"Late last December, North Carolina Governor Bev Purdue launched one of the nation's most ambitious set of government reorganization and IT consolidation efforts, calling for solutions that will both streamline operations, and enable the maximization of the state's IT infrastructure," said Dixon. "Given the record number of new governors taking office this year, this initiative will be closely watched by states looking to follow North Carolina's lead." To better enable IT vendors a strategic position in the local contracting landscape, the event will also serve as a sounding board to bring in new ideas and solutions to the Raleigh area.
