RAE Systems Awarded Contract to Provide Radiation and Toxic Gas Screening for Beijing International Airport
San Jose, Calif. - May 29, 2008- RAE Systems Inc. (AMEX: RAE),a leader in delivering innovative sensor solutions to serve industrial, energy, environmental and government safety markets worldwide, today was awarded a contract to supply radiation screening portals and wireless toxic gas screening networks for the Beijing Capital International Airport. This contract was placed as part of the security preparations for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

RAE System has in the past been selected to provide monitoring and detection solutions for Olympic venues including Athens, Greece; Salt Lake City, Utah and Torino, Italy. This contract consists of radiation screening portals, a network of AreaRAE wireless monitors as well as security command-center consoles that will be deployed across the airport complex. The airport is located 20 km to the northeast of the Beijing city center. BeijingCapitalAirport is the busiest airport in the People's Republic of China. In 2007 it served 54 million passengers and offered 1200 flights a day, air traffic is expected to rise to 1500 flights per day for the 2008 Olympics. Terms of the contract were not disclosed over security concerns.
