Quickfilter Technologies WideAudio Technology Selected for Sirius XM Internet Radio

Quickfilter QF1Da512 Chip Implements All Audio Processing on New SIRIUS XM TTR1 Table-Top Internet Radio

Date: September 14, 2009

ALLEN, TX - Quickfilter Technologies today announced that its WideAudio(TM) technology has been selected by SIRIUS XM Radio for use in its new table-top Internet radio, the TTR1.

WideAudio technology enables stereo widening (spatialization), along with two channels of audio equalization and is implemented in the QF1Da512 Audio SavFIRe chip. In smaller-sized stereo products such as the TTR1, speakers are very close together, minimizing the listener's ability to hear good stereo separation. The Quickfilter WideAudio(TM) technology provides the developer with a psycho-acoustic effect that gives the listener the sensation that the speakers are much farther apart. This effect greatly enhances the overall stereo listening experience. The audio equalization feature of WideAudio flattens the speaker response and enables the user to listen to music exactly as it was recorded. Options are also included to allow the designer to "color" the response, controlling bass, midrange, and treble in virtually infinite combinations.

The SIRIUS XM TTR1 is a stylish and convenient way to bring SIRIUS XM's Premium Online content to the home or office using a wired or wireless high-speed Internet connection. The full-featured TTR1 is easy to set up and use, offering a complete listening solution for subscribers who want to use their high-speed Internet connection to access SIRIUS XM's online channels without the need for a computer.

TTR1 features include:

o Sleek tabletop design that fits in with most décors.

o Powerful, full-range sound with built-in 2-way speakers.

o Auto-set Clock and Dual Alarms with sleep and snooze timers that can be independently set to a favorite SIRIUS XM channel or buzzer.

o Large display that automatically adjusts brightness to different environments to easily view artist name, song title and clock functions.

o Remote Control that allows users to easily control the radio from across the room.

o User-selectable sound equalizer settings.

o Direct access to 10 favorite channel presets from the front panel buttons or the remote control.

o Parental controls to lock-out channels with controversial content.

"The adoption of the QF1Da512 Audio SavFIRe chip and our WideAudio technology by SIRIUS XM Radio is a validation of the product's price/performance advantages over conventional DSPs in consumer audio applications," stated Tony Valentino (Quickfilter Technologies COO). "Our low-power technology allows manufacturers to deliver excellent audio quality at an overall low cost. This is critical in today's economic environment."

The QF1Da512 Audio SavFIRe chip is available now in production quantities. The QF1Da512 Audio SavFIRe chip costs less than 75 cents in volume, comes packaged in a 3x3mm QFN and consumes only 2.8mW of power, which provides the user with a clear price-performance advantage. Its associated development kit, the QF1Da512-DK, is also available now for purchase at DigiKey and Mouser.

About Quickfilter Technologies

From Concept to Product in Minutes, not Days

Quickfilter Technologies utilizes patent pending techniques for implementing a programmable IC that allows an engineer to design a custom circuit for signal processing without the cost and complexity of programming a DSP. Using the Quickfilter solution, it is possible to create and begin operating a custom four-channel analog front end, digital converter and multi-stage digital filter in less than five minutes. Quickfilter's products are ideally suited for sensors in industrial monitoring and control, medical equipment, homeland security, and engine control applications.

The Quickfilter solution comprises over a dozen individual component functions, both analog and digital, into a single integrated circuit (IC) that is programmable using Quickfilter software. This enables customer to rapidly complete a design at significantly lower cost and higher performance. In addition, the IC can be reprogrammed in circuit during design, at the time of shipment or in the field.

Quickfilter Technologies is a private equity funded fabless semiconductor company founded in 2003 by Bob Silco and located in Allen, Texas. The company is developing a family of programmable mixed-signal integrated circuits that convert noisy analog signals into clean, usable digital signals.
