Psion Teklogix and GlobeRanger complete U.S. deployment of GlobeRanger iMotion Edgeware(TM) to Defense Distribution Centers

Mississauga, ON, Canada, and Richardson, TX - Oct. 26, 2006 - Psion Teklogix (LSE: PON), a global provider of solutions for mobile computing, wireless data collection, imaging and RFID, and GlobeRanger today announced they have deployed GlobeRanger's iMotion Edgeware(TM) to support the Defense Logistics Agency's (DLA) newly expanded passive RFID infrastructure. GlobeRanger's iMotion provides device management, data management and legacy system connectivity in order to extract, interpret and transmit the passive RFID data for the DLA's receiving operations.

GlobeRanger's iMotion has been in continuous production operation at the Susquehanna, Pa., and San Joaquin, Calif., Defense Distribution Center (DDC) strategic distribution centers since December 2004. The RFID expansion comes on the heels of a recent passive RFID hardware deployment for DOD. As part of this expansion, additional portals were deployed at the Susquehanna and San Joaquin facilities. New portals and conveyors were also deployed at the remaining continental U.S. DDC sites.

"Using iMotion's deployment software tools, we certified the new portals and conveyors for optimal processing of passive RFID tagged goods DoD suppliers send," said Susan King, VP government solutions group, Psion Teklogix Corp. "Thanks to our experience with long-running production operations we certified all new portals and conveyors in only two months, successfully accomplishing DDC's desire for an aggressive deployment schedule."

The iMotion system management and device monitoring enables DDC operations staff to monitor and manage equipment locally or centrally throughout DDC's facilities. As the only software device management tools in operation, iMotion allows DDC staff to quickly and easily set and maintain optimum functionality across the entire network of devices, including passive RFID readers, motion sensors, light stacks, printers and handheld devices, and to quickly adapt and integrate new technology as it becomes available.

"We're very pleased to be working with Psion Teklogix on such a significant project," said Michael Bigbee, VP & GM of government and aerospace, GlobeRanger. "In conjunction with DDC staff, the Psion/GlobeRanger team was able to use the passive RFID tag data in innovative new ways, and assist DLA in its mission to support the warfighter."

iMotion is based upon the Microsoft .NET platform, which provided the scalability and flexibility to ensure a rapid deployment at the DDC facilities. The .NET platform also complements the Windows CE.NET technology powering the operating system in Psion Teklogix handheld devices.
