Mar 15, 2011 - Proposed standard, ASTM WK31924, Specification for Fiber Reinforced Plastic Gratings Used in Marine Construction and Shipbuilding, is being developed by Subcommittee F25.03 on Outfitting and Deck Machinery. Gratings are used on mobile offshore drilling units and floating production platforms as walkways in machinery spaces, cargo areas, and on-deck areas. Standard will cover several aspects of FRP gratings, including fire testing procedures, ultraviolet effects, and moisture absorption.
