Process Equipment Manufacturer Appoints Project Engineer
Bristol, PA: Process equipment manufacturer Volkmann USA, Bristol, PA (https://www.volkmannusa.com) has named Chris Lovisa Project Engineer. Bringing a proven track record in project management and large machinery design, fabrication, and installation, Mr. Lovisa is responsible for designing the company's pneumatic vacuum conveyors, bag dumping systems, feeding and dosing systems, and other equipment for the safe transfer of powders and other bulk materials. Mr. Lovisa most recently served The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., and Global PCCI (GPC), Irvine, CA as project engineer involved in underwater ship maintenance following engineering roles with Georgia-Pacific, Easton, PA.
Lovisa’s newly created position meets the intense demand for the company's process equipment, according to Dominick Fortuna, president. “We've experienced increased interest in our conveying systems across the board, whether for moving food ingredients or 3D printing powders,” says Fortuna, a mechanical engineer by trade. “Chris has already begun to play an important role in keeping our lead times on track and our quality reputation intact and I'm happy to have him on board.”
Mr. Lovisa earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA. He also earned certifications in both Solid Edge and Solidworks 3D modeling programs.
Volkmann designs and manufactures explosion-proof pneumatic vacuum conveying systems and companion equipment to safely transfer powders, pellets, tablets, and other bulk materials from one point to another.
