President of National Coatings Corporation Elected to Cool Roof Rating Council Board of Directors
National Coatings Corporation (NCC), announces that their President, Matt Kolb has been elected to an open Board of Director position at the Cool Roof Rating Council.
CAMARILLO, CA, May 27, 2008 - National Coatings Corporation (NCC) is proud to announce the election of Matt Kolb to the open Board of Director position at the Cool Roof Rating Council(CRRC).
Matt has been actively involved with the CRRC (www.coolroofs.org) since he joined NCC six years ago. "The importance of having an entity such as the CRRC today cannot be overstated. Credible ratings are now available for high reflectivity roof products tested by certified independent labs thereby helping consumers and building authorities make decisions based on sound results provided and administered by third parties." , says Kolb.
While a cool roof may be defined differently by different codes or programs, in simple terms, a cool roof reflects and emits the sun's heat back to the sky instead of transferring it to the building below. "Coolness" is measured by two properties, solar reflectance and thermal emittance. Both properties are measured from 0 to 1 and the higher the value, the "cooler" the roof.
