Porvair Begins US Site Expansion

Porvair Filtration Group has begun work on a project to expand its manufacturing facility in Caribou, Maine.
Construction of the 7,000 sq ft extension started during August and is set to be completed by December this year.
Porvair designs and manufactures high-quality, cost-effective filters for all stages of the purification or separation process as well as OEM Products for the Analytical Instrument and the Process Instrument Markets.
The company specialises in a wide range of porous sintered metal products which utilise advanced technology in powder metallurgy, providing optimum solutions for a wide variety of applications.
This technology allows a rigid, permeable structure to be formed with a network of sintered powder particles and interconnected pore channels.
Commercial applications such as filtration, flow control, flame arrestors, sensor protectors, spargers and chromatography frits take advantage of the characteristics of porous materials to offer a cost-effective solution to diverse engineering challenges in the industrial marketplace.
The Caribou expansion will support the company in developing its innovative product line, and comes a year after Porvair acquired the site and business of Chand Eisenmann Metallurgical.
President of Porvair in the USA, Kevin Nelson, said the expansion reaffirmed the company’s commitment to investing in growth at the plant.
