PMA Names New Exhibition Sales Manager

CLEVELAND, OH—The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) is pleased to announce the promotion of Douglas E. Trout as PMA’s exhibition sales manager, effective immediately.  His responsibilities include selling exhibit space in the METALFORM technology area for all FABTECH tradeshows (United States, Canada, Mexico and India).  He also will collaborate with FABTECH’s cosponsoring associations to support the overall strategic plan of the show, assist in developing marketing materials to promote the event and provide customer service to exhibitors.

“Doug has a passion for the metalforming industry and an extensive background in sales,” said William E. Gaskin, PMA president.  “He also knows PMA and our membership very well, having served as PMA’s membership development manager from 2000 to 2003.  He returned to PMA on a part-time basis during 2010-2011 and returned full-time in 2012 focusing on manufacturing membership sales.  We are fortunate to have Doug leading PMA’s FABTECH sales efforts.  He is a key part of our future success and we look forward to the show’s continued growth.”

Doug replaces Roger Judson who is retiring from PMA on December 31, 2013, after more than 40 years in manufacturing, including 13 years as PMA’s exhibition sales manager.  Until his retirement, Roger will focus primarily on selling exhibit space for the upcoming METALFORM Mexico and FABTECH Canada tradeshows.

“Roger has been instrumental in the establishment and success of the METALFORM technology area at FABTECH, beginning in 2009, when PMA’s METALFORM exhibition joined with FABTECH International and the AWS Welding Show,” said Gaskin.  “From 2002 through 2008 Roger led exhibit sales for PMA’s METALFORM exhibition and helped establish and grow PMA’s METALFORM Mexico exhibition, launched in 2003.  On behalf of PMA and its Board of Directors, we wish him a long and well-earned retirement.”

PMA is the full-service trade association representing the $113-billion metalforming industry of North America—the industry that creates precision metal products using stamping, fabricating, spinning, slide forming and roll forming technologies, and other value-added processes.  Its nearly 900 member companies also include suppliers of equipment, materials and services to the industry.  PMA leads innovative member companies toward superior competitiveness and profitability through advocacy, networking, statistics, the PMA Educational Foundation, FABTECH and METALFORM Mexico tradeshows, and MetalForming and Fabricating Product News magazines.

FABTECH is North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event.  It is cosponsored by PMA, the American Welding Society (AWS), the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International (FMA), the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) and SME.
