Phoenix Technologies Ltd. Names David Dury as Chairman


MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 2006--Phoenix Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:PTEC), the global market leader in core system software, today announced that it has appointed current board member David Dury as Chairman.

Having joined the Board of Directors in 2002, Dury has most recently provided counsel regarding the company's hiring of a new CEO, Woody Hobbs, and appointment of investment banking firm Savvian LLC. Dury will take the helm and work with fellow board members and company executives to set the course for the future of Phoenix.

Dury is a co-founder and co-owner of Mentor Capital Group, LLC, which provides venture capital and services to start-up companies. Prior to founding Mentor Capital Group in 2000, Mr. Dury served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Aspect Development, Inc. from 1996 to 2000. Prior to Aspect, Dury held senior executive roles at NetFrame Systems, Inc., Boole & Babbage, Inc. and Priam Corporation. Mr. Dury also serves on the Board of Directors of Intevac, Inc.
