Philadelphia Scientific Introduces iBOS® basic, the Latest Addition to its Line of Intelligent Battery Organizing Systems
iBOS basic brings big fleet management to the small fleet owner
MONTGOMERYVILLE, Pa. - Philadelphia Scientific, The Lean Battery Room Experts(TM), a leading international manufacturer of industrial battery components and accessories, has introduced iBOS® basic, the latest addition to its line of intelligent battery organizing systems. iBOS basic offers the same industry-leading battery management technology and many of the same features as iBOS® PRO, but is designed specifically for small fleet owners - and at a lower cost.
Prior to the development of iBOS basic, it was difficult for small fleets to properly manage battery assets without significant expense. Thus, many smaller operations have experienced uneven battery use, which has led to shortened run times, hot batteries, premature battery failure and lost productivity. With the introduction of iBOS basic, warehouses and distribution centers can save money in three ways: faster battery changes; less frequent battery changes; and longer-lasting batteries, reducing the frequency of battery purchases.
iBOS basic can manage up to 31 chargers within a single pool of batteries of the same voltage used for the same type of forklift truck. Like iBOS PRO, the system instructs operators which battery to choose based upon which one has had the longest cool down time since charging.
A backlit display clearly indicates the number of the battery to take next. If an operator selects an incorrect battery, a built-in alarm sounds. The display screen provides detailed information about the fleet including the number of batteries presently available, battery availability over the previous 24 hours, the number of batteries selected and the percentage of incorrect selections. iBOS basic can be quickly and easily-installed by warehouse staff.
