Phantom Cameras Play Instrumental Role in Developing New Helmet Technology with the University of Washington and VICIS, Inc.

"By utilizing the Phantom v711 in our research and development, we have a better grasp of what factors impact helmet performance," said Dr. Per Reinhall, professor and chair of mechanical engineering at the University of Washington and CTO at VICIS, Inc. "With the camera, the team was easily able to capture high-quality impact footage and correlate the data acquired. Through our research, we have been able to design a product that demonstrates unprecedented reduction in linear and rotational acceleration, the forces likely to cause concussion. We are now on our way to building a helmet that provides significant advancements in protective technology."
