The Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced the appointment of Rick Dixon as RESNET's ANSI standard manager, overseeing all of the organization's new ANSI standard development activities.

Mr. Dixon brings considerable skills and experience to this new position with RESNET. For 12 years he served as executive director of the Florida Building Commission, where he was responsible for strategic planning, research, and development of codes and support programs. He was previously the State of Florida's building and appliance energy efficiency programs manager, and also served on the faculty and as a research engineer for the University of Florida's mechanical engineering department.

RESNET's first ANSI standards will focus on the rating of a home's energy performance and national home energy performance testing. RESNET works to develop a national market for home energy rating systems and energy efficient mortgages, developing standards in those areas and fostering collaboration and communication.
