People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The National Restaurant Association, an ANSI member, has announced the appointment of Chris Raymond as vice president, political affairs. In this role, Mr. Raymond will develop the association's political strategy on key initiatives and priorities affecting its more than 380,000 member restaurant establishments. He will work closely with members of Congress and other government officials, manage grassroots efforts, and oversee the association's Political Action Committee (PAC) and the Save American Free Enterprise (SAFE) program.

Prior to joining the National Restaurant Association, Raymond was vice president of government relations for the National Council for Higher Education Loan Programs. Mr. Raymond also held several positions on Capitol Hill, including chief of staff/legislative director for Congressman Joe Sestak (D-PA). Mr. Raymond received a bachelor of arts in political science from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.
