PCB Piezotronics Announces Appointment of Dr. Chris Lawrenson as US Expert Member on IEC TC29/WG5 for Measurement Microphones


March 22, 2007, Depew, NY, USA - PCB Piezotronics (PCB®) has announced that Chris Lawrenson, Ph.D., Lead Acoustics Engineer for PCB®, has been appointed as an additional US expert member to the US Technical Advisory Group (TAG) on IEC TC29/WG5 "Measurement Microphones", managed by the Acoustical Society of America.

As a member of this group, Dr. Lawrenson joins other experts from Canada, Denmark, Japan and Spain, as well as one other expert from the United States, in the development of important American National Standards (ANSI), as well as international standards developed under ISO and IEC, for acoustic products and testing. Dr. Lawrenson has been a member of the PCB® team since 2003, where his primary job responsibilities are design, engineering and testing of microphones and other acoustic measurement products. Prior to his role at PCB Piezotronics, he was responsible for research, development and testing of acoustic products at Macrosonix Corporation, and also worked at the National Center for Physical Acoustics. He holds a doctorate in Physics from the University of Mississippi.
