PCB Piezotronics Achieves AS9100:2004 Certification

June 14, 2006, Depew, NY, USA-PCB Piezotronics (PCB®), a global leader in the design and manufacture of sensors and instrumentation, announced today that it has successfully achieved SAE AS9100:2004 certification by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc® (UL).

Notes PCB Vice President of Engineering, David Lally, "For most of our nearly 40-year history, PCB has been serving the aerospace market, supplying sensors for flight test on airframes and launch vehicles. We are especially proud to have achieved this UL certification, which was a necessary step for penetrating the aircraft engine vibration monitoring market and reinforces PCB's 100% commitment to quality and total customer satisfaction."

The PCB Quality Management System is based on the requirements of both AS9100 and ISO 9001:2000. In-house calibration of PCB sensors is conducted with full traceability to NIST, and calibration methods accredited by A2LA to ISO 17025:2005 standards.
PCB was founded in 1967 as a manufacturer of piezoelectric quartz sensors, accelerometers, and associated electronics, for the measurement of vibration, dynamic pressure and force. The unique expertise of the company was the incorporation of microelectronic signal conditioning circuitry within these sensors, to make them easier to use and more environmentally compatible. These ICP® sensors gained wide popularity as industry standard and became the foundation for the company's success.
