PAS and Intergraph Team for Improved Automation Configuration Management
Houston, TX - December 7, 2006 - PAS, the leading global supplier of people and asset solutions and Intergraph Corporation, the leading global provider of spatial information management (SIM) software, today announced the integration of the SmartPlant Instrumentation software (powered by INtools) from Intergraph with the Integrity software from PAS, which will facilitate improved management of automation assets in the process industries.
PAS has integrated SmartPlant Instrumentation with PAS' Integrity Automation Configuration Management (ACM) software to provide Configuration Visualization, Change Management Reporting, and Configuration Integrity Checks. As a result, customers may easily track signal flow from any instrument through all automation assets and advanced applications utilized in process plants today.
Integrity ACM software brings visibility to otherwise intangible assets enabling the consistent implementation of best practices for optimal lifecycle management. SmartPlant Instrumentation is the instrument data management solution within Intergraph SmartPlant for Operations and Maintenance solutions. SmartPlant Instrumentation delivers instrument loop diagrams and datasheets that allow operations and maintenance personnel to use accurate data to reduce the cost of plant maintenance.
The integrated solution delivers increased safety and reliability for operating plants. Operators and instrument technicians can access real-time views of how each instrument is connected to the infrastructure at the plant site and verify the data for consistency, providing information necessary to avoid inadvertent shutdowns, production and quality losses that may otherwise result when instrumentation data points are taken offline for maintenance.
Additionally, the integrated solution offers a 20-25% productivity increase for control engineers and other automation professionals working at the plant site.
