Parmatech Establishes East Coast Metal Injection Molding Operation
New East Providence Factory
PETALUMA, CA - Parmatech Corporation, a leading provider of custom manufactured metal injection molded (MIM) components and services, announced that Parmatech-Proform Corporation (Proform), has acquired a manufacturing facility in East Providence, Rhode Island. The new facility will serve as Proform's future headquarters.
Proform was acquired by ATW in 2009 specifically to augment and compliment Parmatech's California-based MIM operation. Both Parmatech and Proform will focus on metal injection molding and secondary MIM operations for the medical, telecommunications, firearms, handtools, semiconductor, and electronic packaging markets. The existence of two separate facilities offers these markets significantly enhanced logistical and security benefits.
The 25,000 square foot East Providence facility will be fully operational by summer 2010. Until then, operations will continue in the current New Bedford location. According to Peter C. Frost, president of ATW Companies, Inc., "MIM is a very exciting technology which has now established itself as a mainstream metal fabrication technique. By acquiring Proform and setting them up in their own purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility, we will be in a position to offer not only our award winning technical expertise in MIM, but logistical and redundancy benefits as well."
