Pang Named Director of R&D at JAI


SAN JOSE, CA, February 21, 2008 - JAI, Inc., manufacturer of industrial video cameras for machine vision, defense, and traffic applications, today announced the appointment of Francis Pang to the position of director of research and development in JAI's San Jose, California facility. In his new role, Pang is responsible for managing the R&D group in San Jose, and for coordinating the U.S. efforts with JAI's R&D group in Japan. The San Jose facility is responsible for developing a variety of high performance cameras for the machine vision and general imaging markets, as well as designing specialized cameras and accessories for the traffic, defense, and homeland security segments.

Pang has nearly 25 years of experience in the hardware development field, with nearly 15 years spent in various engineering/program management roles. Prior to joining JAI in 2006, Pang was camera engineering manager at Fairchild Imaging in Milpitas, California, where he was responsible for all camera developments in that company.
