Osborne Industries to Present Seminar at AmCon Design & Manufacturing Expo

Osborne Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of custom-molded plastics via Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) and Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), announced it will be attending the AmCon Design Contract Manufacturing Expo. The expo is being held at the Wisconsin State Fair Park, Exposition Center, Hall A, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, October 8-9, 2013. Osborne Industries can be found at booth # 118.

George Eakin, President and CEO of Osborne Industries will present a seminar at the expo entitled, “Wrecking-Ball Tough Materials for Low to Medium Volume Needs.” The seminar will focus on new methods and formulations of Telene® Polydicyclopentadiene (pDCPD), and how Osborne is expanding their capabilities of manufacturing pDCPD parts. Osborne will also showcase a sampling of its current portfolio of custom-molded plastics including doors, fan shrouds, fenders, chlor-alkali adaptors, and industrial fan tips.

Eakin will demonstrate the mechanical properties of pDCPD during his hour-long presentation. Polydicyclopentadiene (pDCPD) is rapidly proving itself for a growing number of applications, owing to its exceptional physical properties and outstanding performance for structural parts and corrosive environments. The ultra-tough, impact-resistant properties of pDCPD are unlike other plastics. With versatile methods and formulations, pDCPD can be used to economically fill the need for a growing range of plastic parts for transportation, corrosion, industrial, recreational, agricultural and other markets. Examples of applications and typical pDCPD material properties will be given. Future opportunities for these methods and materials will be discussed.

The AmCon Design & Manufacturing Expo brings manufacturers together with buyers and engineers for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Attendees of the expo will have access to free seminars, product and service displays, and one-on-one time with several of the region’s top contract manufacturers.
