Orion Energy Systems Announces New Program Designed to Help Partners Grow Profitability

Partners For Profits Program Launched at IEC National Convention in Atlanta

MANITOWOC, Wisc., Oct. 30, 2008 - Orion Energy Systems Inc. today announced the official launch of its Partners for Profits program designed to provide partners with products and tools to increase profits and expand their businesses.

The Partners for Profits program pairs Orion's innovative, energy-saving technology platform with experienced, reputable electrical contractors, energy solutions companies, energy management companies and general contractors who have a local presence and the motivation to sell and/or install products that will save their customers money and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The Partners for Profits program was created to further expand Orion's partner network and includes enhanced benefits such as in-depth training that covers everything from Orion's proprietary technology to performing site surveys and installations. The training program also teaches partners the unique and proven sales and marketing methodologies that have driven Orion's expansive growth.

Partners will also benefit from factory direct prices for Orion's energy saving products, allowing for the possibility of attractive profits. In addition, Partners will have the full support of Orion's in-the-field sales professionals and inside sales support team, as well as marketing and public relations materials to help better promote themselves and Orion's products.

"There is an estimated 20.6 billion square-feet of commercial and industrial space in the U.S. alone that is still using outmoded HID lighting systems," said Neal Verfuerth, president and CEO of Orion. "Decision makers in these facilities are experiencing skyrocketing energy costs and increased pressure to reduce their carbon footprint, and looking for vendors who can help them manage their energy costs now and into the future. This program is designed to equip our partners with the products and tools to meet this growing demand and thereby increase their profits."

Today's announcement reaffirms Orion's commitment to the program.

According to Verfuerth, Jennifer McCue, who was hired earlier this year to cultivate the program, has 14 years of experience establishing distributor networks. McCue said she has high expectations of the program, which is designed to "create a win-win relationship with partners to whom we can consistently offer survey and installation opportunities as well as assistance in selling into their existing and prospective business relationships."

Orion offers a suite of products that allow customers the ability to better manage their energy and lighting needs. Orion's products include the patented Compact Modular(TM) high-intensity fluorescent lighting platform; its wireless InteLite(TM) control system and its patented, rooftop-installed Apollo(TM) Light Pipe, which collects daylight and focuses it to the facility floor. Together, the products can decrease a facility's lighting costs by up to approximately 70 percent.

Orion will officially launched the Partners for Profits program at the Independent Electrical Contractors' (IEC) 51st annual national convention in Atlanta, which starts today and runs through Saturday. Orion Energy Systems is a Platinum Partner of the IEC.
