Orders for OMAX's Model 55100 Reach 1,000

Company achieves unprecedented growth

Kent, Washington - OMAX Corporation, the pioneer of high-quality, precision waterjet machining systems, has recently announced the sale and delivery of its thousandth machine, a Model 55100 JetMachining® Center. The accomplishments of the 55100 far exceed the capabilities required for waterjet machining by demonstrating superior precision, cutting performance and reliability.

With dimensions measuring 126" x 90", the 55100 is one of two large-footprint abrasivejet machines manufactured by OMAX. Designed to machine large parts, the 55100 accommodates sheets of material up to 5' x 10' and can cut complex flat parts from a wide variety of ceramics, composites, glass, metals and plastics.

Based on the Windows® XP operating system, the 55100's user-friendly controls make traditionally complex techniques accessible to a wide range of operators. Parts can be machined from preexisting CAD drawings, or users can create drawings from scratch via Layout, OMAX's intuitive, built-in design software. With its minimal setup time, the machine provides particularly strong value to manufacturers working with short-run part production, just-in-time manufacturing, and prototype development.

Because waterjet technology is gaining in popularity among industry manufacturers, OMAX has seen revenues increase more than 40 percent annually. The company anticipates the market demand for waterjet equipment will continue to grow over the next few years, partly due to the development of more sophisticated materials.

As a result, OMAX has committed to research and development, designing new and innovative machines and software for its customers. The company recently introduced its new XP model, which provides the highest accuracy available in waterjet machining. The machine is capable of 0.001" positioning accuracy over the entire 26" of travel.

In the past, OMAX has been recognized for its cutting-edge technology, including the development of motion control technology. Most recently, Frost & Sullivan, a global consulting company, awarded OMAX with its 2005 Product Value Differentiation Award.
