Orbitform Group Offers Free Product/Process Development Manufacturing Assistance Package

Jackson, MI-Orbitform Group is pleased to announce that it is accepting nominations for the funding of product and/or process development initiatives through the Orbitform Group Development Assistance Project (OAP). The Project will provide a complete product/process manufacturing development analysis (typical value of approximately $2,500) in product and/or process development assistance to help with current constraints and research and development of product manufacturers involved in new, lean or green initiatives. Assistance recipient organizations will be chosen by a panel of engineers from nominations received via email.

"2009 marks Orbitform Group's 25th anniversary," said Phil Sponsler, President of Orbitform Group. "However, because so many businesses are seriously concerned about the economy, we wanted to do something that would show our appreciation to manufacturing organizations, and also support the ideas they have for future success."

The Orbitform Group will accept nominations from manufacturing businesses for support of their product development goals via the Orbitform.com website. Organizations may self-nominate or be nominated by a third party. Any company that is nominated must be currently using assembly automation equipment. Nominations will be accepted through May 15, 2009.

Nomination Criteria:

To be eligible for nomination and consideration the following criteria must be met:

· One specific process or product development project must be identified for funding.

· The project may have multiple components.

Selection of Development Assistance Recipients:

A panel of engineering professionals and Orbitform employees will review the nominations and select ten recipients using the following criteria:

1) The stated vision/goals/objectives of the project.

2) The impact the project would have to the organization.

3) The scope of the project-would it be accomplished within the limits of the OAP fund?

4) Why the nominator feels the nominee is deserving of the OAP fund.

The selection of OAP fund recipients will be announced May 20, 2009 on the Orbitform Group website (www.orbitform.com). Recipients will be notified in advance of this date.

What Kind of Project Qualifies for OAP fund?

Almost any kind of fastening, assembly or automation initiative is eligible for OAP funding. Some examples include:

· Green initiatives, alternative energy, lean manufacturing cells

· Custom assembly automation, fastening applications

· Orbital forming, impact riveting, palletized conveyance, robotic welding

· Process monitoring and process control of fastening and assembly applications

· Integration of automation and/or conveyance within an existing operation.
