Orbitform Acquires Marathon Weld Tool

Orbitform is pleased to announce an expansion of products and services. On December 7, 2005 Orbitform added welding process expertise through the purchase of Marathon Weld Tool from Marathon Weld Group (ELCO), Jackson, Michigan. This new product team has been integrated into Orbitform's Executive Drive location.
Even more exciting is the addition of some highly skilled and experienced professionals. Todd McEllis is the Marathon Weld Product Team (MWPT) leader, Jeff Losey serves as Project Engineer, Phil McGuire is the Application Specialist, Jeff Ely is the Controls Engineer, and Randy Rutkowski fills the position of MWPT Designer. Each of these men has a distinguished history in welding and is recognized as an expert in their respective areas. In addition to providing leadership, Todd will head arc welding efforts, while Jeff is the key technical person behind resistance welding.
In addition to resistance and robotic MIG (arc) welding capabilities this acquisition also brings a line of process monitoring and process control products specifically designed for welding operations. The WatchDawg line currently has two new products under final development. RPAS is designed for resistance welding operations and the other, APAS, is targeted on MIG (arc) welding applications. The acronyms stand for Resistance (R) or Arc (A) Process Analysis System. Both of these products fit very well under Orbitform's Watchdawg process monitoring and process control business strategy.
As Orbitform's breadth of products and services grow the philosophy of "holding things together" remains a constant theme. The addition of Marathon Weld to orbital riveting (Orbitform), impact riveting (Milford and Adtech), roller forming (Rollerform), and palletized automation (Arbor Automation) further establishes Orbitform in the field of fastening, joining, and assembly.
