Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Innovation Award Winner Puts Airport Management in the Control Seat
LONDON, UK 28-NOV-2007 12:01 AM Oracle, the world's largest enterprise software company, today announced winners of its seventh Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Innovation Award for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) with Italian partner Software Design flying high to take the top honour. The OPN Innovation Award encourages and rewards innovation by OPN members, where initiatives using Oracle's products and technology are applied to create value for the customer and generate new business potential.
Software Design was awarded the top spot for its groundbreaking AOS Nice-Resource Brain initiative. Utilising Oracle Database 10g, Oracle Application Server 10g and Oracle E-Business Suite, AOS Nice-Resource Brain has swept the market with its leading-edge ability to integrate and centralise all airport processes. This has led to significant efficiency improvements for Software Design customers, which include many of Europe's leading airports.

In second place, UK partner Zogix was awarded for its Employee Services Platform (ESP); an open standard based application for delivering on demand corporate policy compliant travel and entertainment services. The application can help reduce a company's expense spending and carbon emissions through the combined use of policy compliance, real time employee collaboration and employee incentive features. Using Oracle SOA, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Identity Management and Oracle E-Business Suite, the Zogix ESP enables change in user behaviour when booking travel and entertainment services and rewards employees who find ways to reduce their carbon emissions and make savings for the organisation. The Zogix ESP complements an enterprise's existing IT infrastructure and ERP applications by introducing web 2.0 tools and business processes.
Third prize was awarded to German partner Locanis for its G-TRACK warehouse management solution. Making use of Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition or Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition and Oracle SQL Developer, G-TRACK uses software and hardware components to recognise the exact position of transport vehicles, such as forklifts, and pinpoint the position of individual goods in large warehouse environments. The solution represents a key element in the total supply chain, delivering process automation, extremely accurate batch tracking and reducing loading errors by up to 98 percent.
