Oracle Application Server Delivers Stellar Performance

ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 14 / -- Oracle today announced that Oracle® Application Server 10g Release 3, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, together with Oracle Database running on Sun's UltraSPARC T2-based servers with the Solaris 10 operating system, delivered a best-in-class result with the SPECjAppServer2004 Java Application Server Performance Benchmark by achieving the record performance for a single-processor system. (1) With this result, Oracle demonstrates outstanding performance, ideally suited for Service-Oriented Architectures (SOAs), Web services and business critical enterprise applications.

Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3, together with Oracle Database, achieved 2,000.92 SPECjAppServer2004 JOPS@Standard (jAppServer Operations Per Second). The Java Application Server was running on a Sun SPARC Enterprise T5220 server with a 1.4 GHz UltraSPARC T2 processor. Oracle Database was running on a Sun SPARC Enterprise T5120 server with a 1.2 GHz UltraSPARC T2 processor. Both were running on the Sun Solaris 10 Operating System.
