OMAX® to Showcase New Solutions for Abrasive Waterjet Machining at IMTS 2006

Company's precision waterjet machining centers offer unmatched speed, accuracy and versatility

Kent, Washington, June 21, 2006 - OMAX® Corporation, the pioneer of high-quality, precision waterjet machining systems, will feature two of its premiere JetMachining® Centers, the 2626|xp and the 80160, at IMTS 2006. OMAX's innovative machines will be displayed in booth B-6235 in the Metalforming & Fabricating/Lasers pavilion during the show, which runs from September 6-13, 2006 at the McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.

OMAX's 2626|xp JetMachining Center is capable of machining complex shapes with up to ±0.001" positioning accuracy over the entire 26" of travel. As a result, the 2626|xp is increasing in popularity among medical and die and mold manufacturers.

The 2626|xp delivers unprecedented accuracy while cutting materials such as stainless steel and other metals, and has the capabilities to machine a variety of materials including plastics, glass, ceramics and composites with ease.

The 2626|xp provides a mix of features tailored to meet the high accuracy requirements of those in the medical and die and mold industries, including OMAX's Tilt-A-Jet(TM) system, which can achieve virtually zero taper, and OMAX software, including Intelli-MAX(TM) cutting enhancements. Intelli-MAX is a suite of new technologies that produces higher tolerance parts quickly, without compromising speed for accuracy.

The 80160 JetMachining Center will also be showcased in the booth. This extremely precise abrasive waterjet offers precision machining for large or multiple parts from stock up to 6' x 14', and features large standard axis travels, up to 168" x 80".

Like the 2626|xp, the 80160 is capable of machining complex flat parts from most materials, including metal, plastic, glass, ceramics and composites, to a dynamic positioning accuracy of up to ± 0.003", directly from a CAD drawing or .DXF file. The 80160 can machine extremely hard and reflective materials, eliminating tool changes and complex fixturing to drastically reduce setup times.
