OMAX® Leadership in High-Performance Waterjet Technology to be on Display

KENT, Wash., – At FEIMAFE 2015, the International Machine Tools and Integrated Manufacturing Systems Trade Fair, May 18-23, OMAX Corporation will feature the fast, precise cutting performance of the OMAX 60120 JetMachining® Center and the versatility and speed of the MAXIEM® 1530. Visitors to stand G098 at the Pavilhão de Exposições do Anhembi – São Paulo – SP – Brazil will see demonstrations of both machines and have an opportunity to discuss their manufacturing challenges with applications experts.

The bridge-style 60120 JetMachining Center is ideal for a wide range of production runs across various industry segments, such as oil and gas, aerospace, agriculture and transportation. It successfully accommodates components measuring up to 1.52 meters by 3.05 meters (5 feet by 10 feet) and can cut complex parts from a variety of materials, including advanced composites, exotic alloys, traditional metals and rubber.

The 60120 uses the powerful, highly efficient EnduroMAX Pump to provide higher cuttings speeds and greater precision than competitive abrasive waterjet machines. Offered in a variety of horsepower options, the EnduroMAX Pump increases part-processing speeds and lowers the operating costs of all OMAX JetMachining Centers. OMAX engineered the direct-drive pump for optimal efficiency, enabling it to deliver more than 85 percent of the power to the cutting nozzle.

At the show, OMAX will also demonstrate the 60120 with its award-winning Tilt-A-Jet® cutting head. This accessory enables OMAX machines to achieve virtually zero taper with most materials for the precision cutting of parts with square, taper-free edges, including interlocking pieces and dove tail fittings. Through the control software, Tilt-A-Jet automatically calculates and adjusts the angle of the nozzle to accurately remove the natural taper from the finished part by transferring it to the scrap part of the material-all while maintaining extremely high cutting rates.

The newly redesigned 1530 is perfect for job shops, metal service centers and trade schools. It represents the company’s next generation line of MAXIEM machines, building on the costeffective, yet high-performance technology of its predecessors to offer enhanced durability, improved performance, and faster production times for an overall increase in productivity and profitability.

At FEIMAFE, the company will pair the 1530 with a highly efficient 30-hp direct-drive pump and optional A-Jet® multi-axis cutting head to demonstrate how easy it is to cut beveled edges, angled sides and countersinks. As the industry’s most accurate beveling head, the A-Jet also compensates for taper and creates 3D complex shapes.

Like all OMAX and MAXIEM JetMachining Centers, the 60120 and the 1530 come equipped with the company’s intuitive Intelli-MAX® Software Suite, which runs on the Windows® operating system, precisely calculates the velocity of a tool path at over 2,000 points per inch, allowing for complete control over the motion of an abrasive waterjet. The latest Intelli-MAX Software meets the growing trend of manufacturers processing 3D components by supporting up to six axes of coordinated motion. Free software upgrades are available to all OMAX JetMachining Center owners.

With so many diverse offerings in its product portfolio, OMAX Corporation offers the broadest range of table sizes, pumps, accessories, software and support on the market. Moreover, the company’s abrasive waterjet technology provides a flexible and beneficial alternative to conventional machining operations. In fact, with OMAX waterjet technology, manufacturers can accomplish quick turnaround of accurate parts without the hassle of tool changes or complex fixturing, as well as achieve smooth surface finishes without the need for secondary machining.

Through its distribution partners, OMAX has expanded its global reach and increased the availability of its high-speed, precision-engineered technology. Weld Vision serves customers throughout Brazil with a wide range of services and products, including a complete stock of original spare parts for all OMAX and MAXIEM JetMachining Centers.
