Omaha Thermographer Wins $20,000+ prize in Mikron Infrared's Name the Camera Contest

TrueShot(TM) Name Wins Infrared Camera and Training Valued at more than $20,000

Omaha, NE, October 31, 2005: Bryan Dring, president of ThermaScan Solutions in Omaha, NE, is the happy winner of Mikron Infrared's "Name the Camera" contest, which netted him a new Mikron M7800 thermal imaging camera and Snell Infrared training package with a total value of $20,490. The contest was sponsored by Mikron and Snell to find a memorable name for Mikron's new line of M7800 high-performance thermal imaging cameras, introduced to the market last summer.

Dring's "TrueShot" name was selected from more than 350 submissions received from around the world. He explains that he learned about the contest at Mikron's web site (www.mikroninfrared.com) and came up with the name because the camera reminded him of a pistol and it takes a "true shot," visually and thermally. "An infrared camera's most important job is to take a true shot of what you're studying," says Dring, a professional thermographer who already owns a Mikron 7515 infrared camera he uses to do electrical cabinet inspections, energy audits and roof inspections for commercial properties.

Mikron Infrared Vice President Jon Chynoweth says Dring's product name best captures the features of the new M7800 product line. "Some clever miniaturization enabled us to put the 'imaging engine' of our most advanced, high-resolution camera into a compact, ergonomic housing, so Bryan's TrueShot name really captures the essence of the product," Chynoweth says. "With four times the resolution of any other infrared camera in its price range, the M7800 line - if you'll pardon the pun - does deliver "True Shot" thermal precision, as well as a superior isotherm image. The ASNT Level I or II training from Snell is the perfect complement to the camera hardware, too. Snell is the most respected organization in this business, and the training will allow Bryan to fully exploit the potential of his new camera."

"In my experience, Mikron cameras have proven to be exceptionally reliable and accurate," adds Dring. "My Mikron 7515 is easy to use, completely portable, has long battery life, and produces a great image. I'm especially glad to have the training from Snell Infrared as part of the prize, because they're simply the best in this business and we've used them before. Education is everything when it comes to using an infrared camera effectively, not to mention interpreting the resulting images. This new camera and training may help us expand our business, and certainly will enable us to serve our customers better."
