Oce and CEM Jointly Demonstrate Cost-Effective Check/Coupon Book Production

BOSTON, April 17 // -- Oce (NASDAQ:OCENY), a global leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, Oce and its partner, CEM S.p.A., are showcasing the digital check/coupon book printing and production line. The inline system produces finished check and coupon books and is demonstrated for the first time in the United States at the On Demand Conference in CEM booth 1457.

"For the financial marketplace and others, check book printing is a critical variable data application. Print service providers who serve these markets now have an on demand solution for high-quality checkbook printing without the expense and effort of offset printing. As a result, they can serve their customers faster and more economically with on demand production and deliver the personalized check books that banking customers require," said Joyce Virnich, Vice President, Marketing, Oce North America.

The online digital check book printing line combines the productivity and reliability of the Oce VarioPrint(R) 5160 cut-sheet printer with the high performance CEM DocuConverter and Cheque Book Factory system. The configuration is designed for secure, on demand production of booklets for checks, gift and travel vouchers, payment coupons and similar applications. Oce PRISMA(TM) workflow software drives process efficiency and control for job submission and spooling. The inline check book production offering produces up to 2,000 books per hour on any base stock between 16 lb bond and 110-pound index, including CBS-1 security paper. Operator intervention has been reduced to a minimum, making the entire process less prone to errors and security breaches.
