BILLERICA, Massachusetts, January 16 - Objet Geometries Ltd., the world leader in ultra-thin layer photopolymer jetting, today announced that the U.S. introduction of its Connex500(TM) 3-D Printing System and PolyJet Matrix(TM) Technology will take place at the SolidWorks World show in San Diego, CA. The revolutionary Connex500, which is the first system capable of printing parts and assemblies made of multiple model materials all in a single build, will be demonstrated for the first time in North America at the Objet booth (#424), January 20-23.
Based on Objet's breakthrough PolyJet Matrix(TM) Technology, the Connex500 establishes a new era in rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing.
In addition to the unique ability to print models made out of several different materials, the Connex500 introduces the new concept of on-the-fly fabrication of materials, these Digital Materials - composite materials that are formulated during the build process and that have preset combinations of mechanical properties unattainable by single materials.
The Connex500 broadens Objet's offering, adding another level of versatility and capabilities to those provided by Objet's market-leading Eden(TM) family of 3-D printing systems. Professionals from vast array of industries in North America are already familiar with Objet's innovative approach to 3-D modeling through the Eden family. The Eden machines produce highly accurate, finely detailed models, with ultra-thin walls down to 16 microns. Differentiated by their different build sizes and varied support for specific FullCure® photopolymer materials from Objet, the variety of Eden 3-D printing systems available enables design departments to choose the solution that best fits their needs. The launch of the Connex500 further expands the range of choice.
"The North American market, which is already a strong adopter of 3-D printing, is well primed for the unparalleled advantages that Connex500 offers for product design and development engineers," said Frank Marangell, President of Objet USA. "As a premier gathering of CAD experts and a key show for rapid prototyping in the United States, SolidWorks World is the perfect venue for introducing what we believe is the most exciting new developments to benefit product designers in recent years."
With its innovative multi-material and Digital Materials printing capabilities, the Connex500 opens the way to virtually unlimited opportunities for emulating the look, feel and function of final products more closely than ever before. The machine offers particularly compelling cost and time advantages for applications that would usually require the gluing of separate parts made of different materials and for end-products that involve double injection production.
The U.S. launch of the Connex500 and PolyJet Matrix technology comes hot on the heels of its highly successful international introduction, held at Euromold 2007 in Germany, last month. The Connex500 won the EuroMold 2007 Innovation Award, which recognizes the most innovative developments from the broad fields of mold-making and tooling.
About Objet Geometries
Objet Geometries, the photopolymer jetting pioneer, develops, manufactures and globally markets ultra-thin-layer, high-resolution 3-dimensional printing solutions for rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing. The market-proven Eden line of systems is based on Objet's patented office-friendly PolyJet(TM) technology. Objet's FullCure® materials create accurate, clean, smooth and highly detailed 3-dimensional models, enabling even the most complex 3-D models to be printed with exceptionally high quality, accuracy and speed.
ConneX500(TM) , Objet's latest innovation, is based on Objet's PolyJet
Matrix(TM) technology, which offers jetting multiple model materials simultaneously. PolyJet Matrix jets Digital Materials(TM) creating composite materials which are fabricated on the fly.
Objet's solutions enable manufactures and industrial designers to reduce cost of product development cycles and dramatically shorten time-to-market of new products. Objet systems are in use by world leaders in many industries, such as automotive, electronics, toy, consumer goods, and footwear industries in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Japan.
Founded in 1998, Objet serves its growing worldwide customer base through offices in USA, Europe, China and Hong Kong, and a global network of distribution partners. Objet owns more than 50 patents and patent pending inventions.
