NRMCA Names Grassroots Activist of the Year

Silver Spring, MD - April 26, 2007 - The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) has awarded its annual Grassroots Activist of the Year Award to Bob Albano, vice president of Nevada operations for Rinker Materials Corp. The award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding participation in NRMCA's government affairs, CONCRETEPAC and grassroots programs. Albano received the award last month at the Association's annual convention in La Jolla, CA.

Albano has repeatedly demonstrated his commitment to the success of NRMCA's advocacy initiatives. When the IRS asked NRMCA to devise a test to determine the industry's PTO fuel use, he was the first to enroll Rinker trucks. Albano also hosted the IRS at a Rinker plant in Las Vegas so the agency could gain first-hand experience of ready mixed concrete delivery operations.

Albano has stepped up for CONCRETEPAC as well. He has supported CONCRETEPAC through personal contributions and sponsorship of events. He has also repeatedly volunteered to hand deliver CONCRETEPAC donations to members of the Nevada congressional delegation.

NRMCA, founded in 1930 and based in Silver Spring, MD, represents the producers of ready mixed concrete and the companies that provide materials, equipment and support to the industry. It conducts education, training, promotion, research, engineering, safety, environmental, technological, lobbying and regulatory programs.
