Educating Engineers about the Trends of the Semiconductor Industry and Introducing NRD’s Solutions using Alpha Ionizers

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. - JANUARY 08, 2018 - NRD, LLC – NRD® was represented by John Glynn II, Director of Sales and Marketing, at the 9th ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) Forum established to educate engineers specializing in the semiconductor and electronics industries from the Philippines. He presented NRD’s approach in a global marketplace, including introducing solutions when using NRD’s alpha ionizers. Mr. Glynn informed the group that “NRD believes the biggest challenge electronics manufacturing organizations face, is the fact that next generation devices will be even more sensitive to static charge events as they will have a higher level of sensitivity to charge parameters as well as smaller particle contamination. This electrostatic discharge can short the devices and cause latency failure, resulting in production downtime, lost revenue, and jeopardized client relationships.”

The on-going and future changes in the semiconductor industry will continue to make the devices more sensitive to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and, hence, a need for better and more efficient solution for eliminating or neutralizing static electricity. Mr. Glynn further discussed how “NRD’s alpha ionizers use very safe technology, do not need electricity to operate, and require no maintenance or calibration, as well as maintain inherently zero-volt balance even in nitrogen environments. Whereas, a corona ionizer requires high voltage to operate and is not always the best option in highly sensitive semiconductor processes."
