ATLANTA, Sept. 1 - Energy and utility experts from the U.S., Europe and Asia will meet in Charlotte, North Carolina, on September 8 for a three-day summit to exchange industry information, discuss geographic trends and new developments, and share successful business strategies. The Annual Energy & Utilities Summit brings together representatives from Highland Worldwide member companies located in the U.S., Australia, France, Germany, The Netherlands and Spain, including North Highland (www.northhighland.com), a global management and technology consulting firm. North Highland energy and utility consultants from California, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington, D.C., will participate in the summit this year.

"The summit is an important part of North Highland's strategy of managing and delivering our intellectual capital on a global scale," said Tim Gunter, North Highland's vice president of Energy & Utilities, and the summit's host. "It has proven to be an invaluable forum for bringing the latest in energy and utilities best practices and subject matter expertise to our clients through our globally local delivery model."

The 2010 summit's agenda includes a market analysis of the energy and utility industry in North America, Europe and Southeast Asia, as well as regional developments in Smart Grid technology, energy efficiency, risk and compliance, grid security, power delivery infrastructure, and information technology for both the utilities and oil and gas industries. Participants will also tour local power plants and engage in roundtable discussions with industry leaders.

Highland Worldwide chose Charlotte to host this year's summit because of its reputation as a developing energy industry hub. Over 100 Charlotte-based companies are involved in the design, operations, engineering, research and construction of energy facilities. The firm's two previous Energy & Utility Summits were held in Paris and The Hague.
