REMINDER: Five Days Remain to Submit Nominations for 2010 ANSI Board of Directors

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) would like to remind all interested stakeholders that nominations for the 2010 ANSI Board of Directors are due this Friday, June 12, 2009. They are for candidates to serve terms beginning January 1, 2010.

In order to assure balance and diversity within its membership, ANSI is seeking Board members who enhance member relationships and networks. To facilitate the nomination process, ANSI has compiled a set of guidelines that outline the sectors that are currently underrepresented in ANSI's Board of Directors. These guidelines, nomination forms, general information, and ANSI's code of ethics are all available in the ANSI Online Library.

Nominations require a biographical statement and a letter of corporate support (note: letter of corporate support is not required for corporate officers or for individual and government members). Candidates will be reviewed by the Board Nominating Committee, and nominations by that Committee will subsequently be balloted for election by the ANSI membership.

The Board is responsible for the management and control of the activities, property, and affairs of ANSI, including the strategic direction of the Institute, the annual budget, and the scope of responsibilities of the Board and Institute Committees, Councils, and Boards.

Nomination forms may be submitted through Friday, June 12, 2009, to Tricia Power, ANSI assistant to the vice president and general counsel (tpower@ansi.org; fax: 212.840.2298). Nominations may also be mailed to:
