Nok Nok Labs Selected as SINET 16 Innovator to Present at 2013 SINET Showcase
PALO ALTO, Calif. - Nok Nok Labs, a company founded to transform online authentication for modern computing, today announced that it has been selected as a SINET 16 Innovator. Nok Nok Labs will present a live product demo during the SINET Showcase 2013 to be held December 4-5, 2013 at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. The Security Innovation Network™ (SINET) is an organization focused on advancing Cybersecurity innovation through public-private collaboration.
Nok Nok Labs' technology makes strong authentication easier to use and more secure. The company's client and server products leverage a new protocol that allows users to log on to devices, applications, and websites with a unified authentication method. The solution enables biometric and non-biometric authenticators that create strong, flexible and risk-appropriate multifactor authentication, tailored to any user or transaction type.
"Nok Nok Labs was created to disrupt current authentication methods, replacing cumbersome passwords and usernames that have become too difficult to use and manage with the growing diversity of devices and applications," said Phillip Dunkelberger, CEO of Nok Nok Labs. "Recognition from SINET is a huge validation of our strategy and vision as we see the need for more secure and simpler authentication in both the private and public sectors."
The SINET Showcase program, supported by the Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate, received one hundred and fifteen application submissions from early stage and emerging technology companies, with the guideline that their revenues be under $15 million. These entries were carefully vetted in a two-stage process by the SINET Showcase Steering Committee comprised of 66 leaders from the government, industry, investment and academic communities.
"The traditional corporate debate of 'build versus buy' is no longer a debate. It's a buy market being driven by a dynamic attack environment. As a result, the importance of accelerating innovation is imperative, not only for the entrepreneur, but also for a higher calling - the national security and economic interests of our country," said, Robert Rodriguez, Chairman and Founder of SINET. "We congratulate the SINET 16 for helping shape, influence and impacting the future of the Cybersecurity domain."
The SINET Showcase, a public private partnership initiative, was created to identify and share innovative and potentially disruptive Cybersecurity technologies among the audience of buyers and influencers from the investment, research, commercial, civilian, defense and intelligence communities.
