NFI Donates Supply Chain Engineering Services for North Texas Food Bank’s Plano Expansion

NFI, a leading supply chain solutions provider, donated supply chain engineering services for North Texas Food Bank’s (NTFB) new distribution center, “The Perot Family Campus,” in Plano, Texas.

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (PRWEB) MAY 10, 2018 - NFI, a leading supply chain solutions provider, donated supply chain engineering services for North Texas Food Bank’s (NTFB) new distribution center, “The Perot Family Campus,” in Plano, Texas. With deep expertise in logistics within the food and beverage vertical, NFI evaluated plans for NTFB’s new operation and developed solutions to identify efficiencies and optimize the distribution center’s design, layout, and processes.

The new distribution center, in addition to NTFB’s current Dallas location, will enable a broader support base to meet the growing need for food assistance in the North Texas region. The distribution center will be approximately 250,000 sq. ft., with 30 percent of the building being freezer and temperature-controlled.

The North Texas Food Bank is non-profit relief organization, providing access to more than 190,000 meals each day for hungry children, seniors, and families across a 13-county service area. With a 10-year goal of providing access to 92 million nutritious meals annually by 2025, NTFB broke ground for the new location in February with a grand opening scheduled for Fall 2018.

“Giving back to our local communities is a huge part of NFI,” said Ike Brown, Vice Chairman of NFI. “In addition to providing opportunities to improve efficiency, our goal is to set North Texas Food Bank up for continued future success as they grow. We look forward to continuing to work with the organization in the future.”

“As the Food Bank evolves and grows, we are glad to turn to our dedicated partners for innovative support,” said Trisha Cunningham, President and CEO for the North Texas Food Bank. “Talented team members from NFI provided the Food Bank with engineering solutions that will make our new distribution center a cornerstone for hunger relief in North Texas. We are so thankful for their support. NFI’s expertise in the areas of design, layout, and logistics processes will allow for the Food Bank to meet the hunger needs for our area.”
