Magnatech designs and manufactures specialized equipment for orbital pipe and tube welding, using the GTAW, FCAW, and GMAW welding processes. Our products increase welding productivity and quality, for customers in a wide spectrum of industries.
Magnatech's equipment spans a range of applications from simple fusion welding of thin-wall tube, to more sophisticated system for multipass welding of heavy wall pipe. Thousands of systems have been sold worldwide to date. Magnatech's customers include fabricators serving the fossil and nuclear power generation industry; field construction and maintenance for the power generation industry; field construction and maintenance of the pulp and paper processing industries; field construction and maintenance for the chemical and refining industries; field construction for the food processing and pharmaceutical industries; field construction for the semiconductor industries; and field construction and maintenance of the United States nuclear submarine fleet.
Tube and pipe welding, especially in field applications, is possibly the single most demanding requirement of welders' skills. As with many skilled craftsmen, there is a declining number of welders worldwide. Mechanized equipment provides a practical solution, both by increasing individual productivity, and by augmenting the abilities of lesser skilled welders.
